Woodpeckers Week6 Summer 1 2026

Date: 22nd May 2026 @ 10:56am

Hello everyone

The final week of half term has crept up on us once more.

A couple of reminders:

The children have coe home with some homework for the holiday. We hope you enjoy working with them on some of the tasks.

Please encourage your child to practise their times tables over the holiday. Just five minutes every day will make a huge difference for them.

Please make sure that your child brings their ipad into school on Tuesday 2nd June, as they will be staying in school so that we can complete the times tables check the first week back.

PE is changing from Monday and Wednesday to Monday and Tuesday for the final half term. Monday is still swimming until the end of the year.

This week we have been busy publishing our biographies about Tutankhamun. The children have loved learning about the boy King Please ask them about what they have learnt, I am sure they would love to share with you. In maths, we have been finding fractions of amounts. The children are getting quite speedy now. In RE we learnt about Martin Luther King this week, thinking about how people have tried to do something good for poele who are less fortunate than others. Finally, in topic we have been archeologists. The children took part in a mini dig, unearthing artefacts and thinking aobut what they were made from and what they were used for.

Woodpecker's weekly attendance: 95.6%
