Woodpeckers week 5 Autumn 1 25

Date: 9th Oct 2025 @ 8:25am

As another week comes to an end the children have been busy learning all about Jorvik and  the archeological dig that happened there in 1972. They have thought about what artefacts tells us about how people lived in the past and the significance of finding seeds and grains from Viking Danelaw. In RE, we learnt about Karma and thought about using the game Snakes and Ladders to symbolise the way our lives are a journey through different paths. In PSHE, we considered manners and how these are present in our everyday lives. In maths, we have been looking at multiplying by 10 and 100 this week. In English, we have continued our work writing narratives, using the Vikings as our inspiration. In music this week, we learnt a new song - Cool Cat- and we sang along putting in actions for the different words. Finally, Friday afternoon will be a celebration of all things Christmassy, as te children preare to create Christmas card creations for you to purchase from Cauliflower cards. Ask to see their designs when they get home tonight.
