Woodpeckers Week 3 Autumn 1 25

Date: 26th Sep 2025 @ 8:33am

Another busy week where we have been immersed in learning. The children have researched life as an Anglo-Saxon this week. Have a look at some of their work in the files attached. In maths, they hae been learning to use column addition and subtraction methods for numbers in the thousands. In English, they have been completing and writing up their reports on how to look after animals. See if you can spot some of our second person work in the reports attached. We start Forest school today so please ask your child about the activities we did together for this. In RE we learnt about Rama and Sita and linked this to the Hindu festival of Diwali. In whole class reading, the children have been reading the book History Hackers all about children going back to the Roman times.

Things to remember:

Our Harvest festival starts on Monday 22nd with an assembly for the children

Our MTC parental engagement session for year 3 and 4 will be taking place on Wednesday 8th October, you will be getting a letter soon with more details.

Woodpeckers weekly attendance: 98.2%

Well-done to our star of the week, Dabira for her efforts to improve her presentation and for her super attitude to learning.

Well-done to our star writer Harper for her report on how to look after a pet.
