Woodpeckers week 2 Autumn 1 25
Date: 18th Sep 2025 @ 1:13pm
What a week we have had! This week we have immersed ourselves in a little Anglo-Saxon history. The children started the week looking at and researching the ancient burial site of Sutton Hoo. They thought about why the Anglo-Saxons created burial barrows and what the significance of the King's mound is. They produced some lovely fact-files about the site. They then went on to consider the artefacts inside the mound and thought about the craftmanship shown in the work. We have started our daily soundchecks for learning our times tables. Please ask your child how they are doing. We are seeing super progress already. In maths, we hahve been looking at rounding numbers to 10,100 and 1000. In RE we are thinking about Hinduism. We looked at what praying is like for Hindus. The children then labelled the parts of a Hindu shrine. Friday was Global Schools Day. We had fun learning about different places around teh world.
