Woodpeckers Summer 1 week 3
Date: 8th May 2025 @ 4:11pm
Happy VE day! This week in school, the children worked to create poppies for our display for VE celebrations on Thursday. They took part in an assembly all about VE day and thought about the sacrifice people made so that others could live in peace. The children spent the afternoon wrting poems reflecting on Victory in Europe. Have a read of some of our poems in teh files below. In maths this week, we have been learning to use the four operations to solve problems. In English, we started our topic on biographies. We looked very hard at different biograpies thinking about the important features needed in a biographical piece. This Thursday was very exciting, because the children got to select a book from the Madeline Lindley Trust. They will be bringing their book home. Please ask them about their new book. I am sure the children would love to read the book with you too.
