Maths
This week in maths, we’ve been learning all about halving shapes and amounts. The children have enjoyed using counters and drawing sharing circles to help them understand how to split things into two equal parts. They’ve done a brilliant job working together and explaining their thinking. Later this week, we’ll be moving on to explore quarters, learning how to divide shapes and quantities into four equal parts.

English

In English, we’ve been focusing on descriptive story writing. The children have been busy imagining and writing stories about their own wacky, wonderful schools! We've seen some truly creative ideas from robot chefs and hologram dinosaurs to floating desks and zooming rockets! Freddie wowed us with his imaginative story that included crazy lions roaming around the classroom!

Topic

In Topic, we’ve started looking at what schools are like today, thinking about our own experiences to help us get ready to learn about schools from the past. This will lead us into exploring what life was like in Victorian schools and how different things were back then.
