Maths

We have been exploring the idea of halving, using both shapes and numbers to help us understand how to split things into two equal parts. We also began looking at division, practising how to share objects fairly using sharing circles. The children have really enjoyed these hands‑on activities and are becoming confident little mathematicians.

English

This week we have been investigating the features of instructional texts. We looked closely at what makes a good set of instructions such as clear steps, time words, adjectives and the children have been brilliant at spotting these features in different examples.

Topic

In Topic, our learning has taken us on a journey through the seasons as we thought about the types of clothing we wear at different times of the year. We also explored simple navigation around London, beginning to understand landmarks and how maps help us find our way.
