In Maths, we focused on missing numbers using the part-part-whole model. The children enjoyed practical activities where they made cube parts to add together and make a whole. They also tried subtracting one part from the whole to find the missing part, helping them understand addition and subtraction in a practical way.

In English, the children have been learning about the features of character description. We looked closely at using capital letters, full stops, and the connective “and” to make their writing clear and interesting. As part of our 1950s topic, the children substituted simple words with better adjectives to describe an old bear, building their vocabulary and descriptive skills.

In Topic, we started exploring family trees and looked at how to place memorable events in order.   A special well done to Godspower who talked at length about who was in his family and where they went in the family tree. The children also shared special moments from their own lives, like club awards or starting school.
