This week in Maths, we have been exploring subtraction. The children began by using practical resources to help them understand the concept, before moving on to using number lines to work out their answers. We’ve also been practising finding one more and one less than a given number counting.

English
In English, we’ve been using our imaginations to design and describe our very own dream houses. The children worked hard to record their sentences, thinking carefully about their ideas and how to structure them. Railay shared some especially creative ideas for her house, including a pink door and a tiled roof. Wonderful detail Railay!

Topic
In our Topic work, we’ve started learning about the six stages of life from babies all the way through to the elderly. The children have enjoyed this new theme, creating some brilliant activities in our provision areas. Highlights have included making crafted families, storytelling in the small world area about home life, and creating timelines to show how we change as we grow.
