International Workers Day – As a JLT team we wanted to try something new this year which was to celebrate International Workers Day. The children were able to dress up as the career they would like to be when they are older. We invited parents into the school to share with us what careers they had, how they achieved that career and what they do in their job. We had a variety of careers spoken about which the children found interesting. Thank you for all the parents who took time out to come and help our International Workers Day.
The Pledge we achieved is being a Volunteer and Expert Learner.
Food Waste Bins – One of JLT targets were to try and be more environmentally friendly when it came to rubbish in the school. Throughout the Trust there has been a change to provide food waste bins. JLT created posters to stick on the bins to help children know what items should be in the bins and which items shouldn’t be. These posters were to also help KS1 children by having visual prompts. Great Job JLT!
The Pledge we achieved is being an Eco-Warrior.
Memory Café – After the children had received their Dementia Training they were eager to put their knowledge into practise. We contacted Tony and Vicky and joined them at their Memory Café at the church on Ashbourne Road. JLT were fantastic and represented the school in a fantastic way. The children helped serve lunch to the group and took part in a flower quiz. Well done JLT you are great example to the local community. The Pledge we achieved is Be Respectful and Be a volunteer.
Buddy High Vis Jackets – As a school, Reigate voted for a way to help children with their mental health and well-being at lunch time. Reigate voted to have a Buddy System in place that would allow children to have somewhere to go and talk to someone about their feelings. JLT and Mental Health Ambassadors support with this and each lunch there is always somewhere for children to go if they need to talk or feeling lonely. The Pledge we achieved is “Be safe, healthy and happy and being a volunteer.
Our Junior Leadership team have been fantastic this year, and we are so proud of what they have been able to achieve in the school and within the local community. Thank you JLT you have been amazing role models and have continued to make Reigate Park Primary Academy an amazing place to be!
