Summer 2 Week 6
Date: 10th Jul 2025 @ 4:02pm
This week in English, the children have been learning about the features of instruction texts. They have learned about time adverbials, imperative verbs and using adverbs and conjunctions to extend sentences and make them more detailed. On Friday, the children enjoyed following instructions to make a craft and they suggested how to make the instructions more detailed.
In Maths, the children have recapped measures including reading and comparing mass, volume and capacity. They learned how to read scales and also remembered ways to remember key facts e.g there are 1,000 grams in 1kg.
In Forest School, the children had an amazing time working in teams to build a den. They were given a sheet, clips and string and were tasked with assembling it so every member of their team could fit underneath.
In Art, the children created a simple loom made from sticks and a woollen warp. Then we created a botanical weaving by passing natural materials under and over the warp.
In PSHE, the children discussed emotions and why we sometimes feel a particular way. They then created some art that represented different emotions.
