Summer 2 - Week 4

Date: 27th Jun 2025 @ 8:33am

This week in English, the children have been enjoying writing their Roman Myth. Hercules has been tasked with hunting down a Mythical creature that the children have created. They did well when choosing interesting adjective and verb choices to describe the journey and battle! They also created some great speech between characters using the correct speech punctuation. At the end of the week, they used their best handwriting to publish their final piece.

In Maths, the children have been recapping key skills including strategies for the four operations (+, -, x and ÷) and recapping fractions, angles, time and data. They did well to be able to switch between different skills when answering a range of questions.

In Science, the children used torches to explore what happens with the formation of shadows when blocking the light with opaque, translucent and transparent objects. They also learnt how to change the shapes of shadows to make them longer, shorter, wider and narrower.

This week was Spanish week, so the children took part in some exciting activities. They learnt how to say a range of fruits and which they liked/did not like.

Please ensure that the children have a fully recharged Ipad to use in class every day. Please read regularly with your child and record it in their reading diaries.

Thank you for your continued support
