Summer 1 Week 5

In Maths this week, the children have been learning to calculate perimeters by counting squares and converting measures. We have also made shapes with a given areas as well as worked out the area of shapes We have also been practising for our MTC check using our official log-ins.

In English this week, we have been writing our biographies. We have written about Tutankhamun’s childhood, him as a young pharaoh, ruling Egypt and his death and legacy. The children have editing using a checklist and published the final draft.

In Topic we have been learning about ancient civilizations. This week we have looked at the hierarchy of an Egyptian civilisation and what made the Indus Valley important.

In Music, we have been learning about the pentatonic scale. We have learnt how it ascends and descends. The children became composers and learnt how to make their own melodies.
