Summer 1 Week 2

It has been a fraction(y) kind of week this week in class. Ask us about the parts of fractions, we can tell you what the two parts are called and what they mean. The children have used lots of practical resources to help them find fractions of amounts. Wednesday was a very exciting day! We had lots of visitors come into school to tell us about their hobbies and interests. We learnt lots about how to build bird tables and bird boxes and will have two new boxes for our Forest school area. We learnt about a Harris hawk called Ruby, an owl called Ghost and how to look after a Peregrine falcon called Venom. Named so  bacause he can be a handful to look after. We finished our afternoon by learning how to aqua dip. A big thank-you to all the dads and granddads who came to talk to us! We went on a bug hunt in our forest school lesson this week. We found lady birds, slugs, snails, wood lice and spiders. We made sure that we put them all back carefully at the end.
