Summer 1 Week 1
Date: 24th Apr 2025 @ 4:38pm
In English this week, the children have been exploring diary entries. They learned about why people wrote them and looked at some of the features that appear in them, including emotive language to show how the person was feeling.
In Maths, the children recapped number. They learned strategies for finding 10 and 100 more and less than a given number. They also recapped the ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’ symbols (< and >) to compare numbers.
In History, the children began learning about Ancient Rome and had an amazing day on Friday. They have learnt all about the Roman class system, Roman emperors and even made some Roman honey biscuits.
In PSHE, the children learned about the importance of celebrating diversity and shared some of the ways that they are unique. We learned that some children could speak more than one language or had family from/living in a different country!
Thank your for supporting your child in creating a Roman shield. They all look fantastic and the children have enjoyed showing them off.
Please continue to support your child with their home learning and spellings. These tasks are given out every Thursday and are due the following Thursday. We are using the iPads regularly in different subjects so please remind your child to recharge their iPad so that is ready to use at school.
Many thanks,
Mrs Edmond and Miss Pollock
