Summer 1 - Clever Koalas - Week 5

Star of the Week this week is Markuss! Markuss was chosen this week for his increased contributions to discussions in class and a huge increase in his confidence.  He has also been working hard on his writing and ensuring that he uses a range of adjectives to add description to his writing. Well done Markuss!

Star Writer this week goes to Kenzie! Well done to Kenzie for his excellent use of figurative language when describing a range of characters from Greek Myths. We are excited to read your finished myth – make sure you use some of these super sentences!

This week in maths we have been looking at adding and subtracting Roman Numerals – the children were very excited about learning these and really enjoyed it! They all remembered lots from their previous learning and applied this into their work this week. We were really happy with how much everyone remembered and how much they enjoyed reading and writing the numerals.

We spent Thursday and Friday this week creating a story mountain, ready for drafting our own Greek myths next week.  The Koalas have all drawn some excellent characters and made a great start describing their hero and Greek monster/villain.  We can’t wait to get writing this week!
