Starfish Summer 2, Week 6

Date: 11th Jul 2025 @ 3:02pm

In Maths, we have been looking at data. We made our own tally charts and pictograms, by collecting data from children in the class. This week, Miss Eaton introduced us to bar charts. We used the information we collected to create one of our own. On Friday, we started to look at how to answer questions about the data we had. IvyRise and Zina worked hard to create neat pictograms.

In English, we have started to write our own non-chronological report about castles. We used sub-headings to sort our information, this helps to reader to follow the text better. We have written about battlements, castle walls and the Great Hall.

In Topic, we started our new project 'Cut, Stitch, Join'. On Thursday, Miss Eaton and Mrs Grimes helped us learn how to sew a running stitch. This was tricky at first, but we all managed to create a running stitch in a staright line. On Friday, we learnt about repeated patterns on fabric. We designed our own repeated pattern in the style of Cath Kidston. This was so much fun!
