Starfish Summer 2, Week 4
Date: 27th Jun 2025 @ 2:06pm
In Maths, we have been focusing on position and direction. We have been learning positional language as well as our left and right. Miss Eaton taight us a cool trick to work out our left and right! We enjoyed finding treasure, by following a set of instructions. On Friday, we learnt how to position time.
In English, we started our new unit of work. We will be learning how to write a non-chronological report all abour Castles. We have used fact files, pictures and videos to help us learn facts.
In Topic, we made our own moving cards, using the mechanisms that we have been learning about. Lillie and Darleena made a card using a slider mechanism. Harrison and Caelan used a split pin to help them create a lever mechanism.
On Thursday, we visited Tamworth Castle. We had so much fun exploring all the different rooms. some of us were super brave and went into the dungeons. The Lady of the house taught us how to set a table for a royal dinner. We learnt that years ago salt was very expensive, so it had its own ceremony and people were only allowed a little bit of it.
I am so proud of your behaviour on the school trip Starfish, and I am glad you had a lovely day!
