Starfish Summer 2, Week 3

This week in Maths, we have been looking at fractions of amounts and shapes. Lillie worked hard to colour in thirds. Joel and Hunter used the method taught well, to help them find percentages of bigger numbers. 

In English lessons, we wrote our own castle setting descritpions. We worked hard in groups to produce ideas. Abbie wrote, 'the gingerbread man will not let you pass unless you give him some candy'. Darleena also wrote a wonderful sentences. She wrote, 'If you arrive at candy candy castle then you are in luck'.

In Topic lessons, we started our new mini project called Push and Pull. On Wednesday, we made our own slider mechanism. You can find a slider mechanism on locks and greeting cards. On Friday, we explored the lever meachanism. This can be found on many everyday objects, like scissors. We had so much fun making our own lever meachanism, we made a football and arm move!
