Starfish Summer 2, Week 1

Welcome back Starfish! 

We have had a lovely first week back. 

In Maths, we have been revisiting place value. On Tuesday, we estimated number on a number line, we had to count up in our times tables carefully. Miss Eaton challenged us to answer questions where the numberline is counting backwards. Near the end of the week, we moved on to partitioning 2 digit numbers. We tried to find more than one way to partition a number, this was tricky but we tried super hard! 

In English, we wrote out paddington stories up in neat. We used our beautiful handwriting. We designed a front cover for out stories and shared these with our partners. 

In Topic, we started our new mini project called, 'Animal Survival'. We have learnt what a habitat is and what an animal needs to survive. Did you know, a polar bear digs a hole in the snow as its shelter. The desert is very hot, so plants there store water to use throughout the day and year.
