Half term- we made it!

In maths, we recapped our shape work, looking at both 2D and 3D shapes. We revised their properties, then used this knowledge to sort the shapes into a Venn diagram. At first, we found it quite tricky (especially if the shapes didn’t fit into either of the Venn’s circles) but with practise and great discussion – we got there! We were really impressed with the vocabulary the children were using to describe the shapes.

In English, the children wrote instructions for the monarch board games that they made in their Topic lessons. The games that they produced were fantastic, with both negative and positive facts included and some great rewards like move forward 4 and some harsh consequences like go back to the start! The instructions that the children wrote had clear time adverbials (first, next etc) and were easy for their friends and family to follow. 

We look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 4th June- for our final half term together!
