Starfish Autumn 1, Week 3
Date: 25th Sep 2025 @ 12:40pm
The Super Starfish have been authors this week, writing their own version of the Julia Donaldson story- The Magic Paintbrush. All the children came up with amazing ideas, changing where the main character Shen gets trapped and how she escapes. We are really proud of their first published write of Year 2!
In maths, we have moved our learning on to addition. We have practised using a 100 square and using the partitioning method to add two 2-digit numbers together. At the beginning of the week, we found this quite tricky, but we persevered and by the end of the week we were ALL having a try at adding independently.
Neil Amstrong was the focus of our Movers and Shakers project this week. We researched his achievements by watching clips, looking at pictures and reading different texts. As a class, we made a mind map of his key achievements and then turned them into full sentences- creating our own Neil Armstrong report.
In our other lessons this week, we have learnt how to dribble a ball, clap rhythms, the importance of being kind and coding. The Super Starfish really have been super busy this week!
