Starfish Autumn 1, Week 2

Date: 18th Sep 2025 @ 10:33am

In Maths, we have been ordering numbers. We have learnt to look at the tens followed by the ones to indentify the correct order. On Thursday and Friday, we positioned numbers on a numberline. This was tricky because some counted in 2s, 5s and 10s. Jakob and Harriet moved on to challenges too, well done!

In English, we have learnt how to use conjunctions and time adverbials. We wrote our own sentences which included these features. Dottie wrote, 'One morning, a girl called Shen was on the beach'. Noah wrote a fantastic sentence too, he wrote, 'She was sad because she was in jail'.

In Topic, we have been learning how to sequence important dates and birth years of significant people. We first looked at the first two numbers of a date, followed by the last two numbers to help us order them correctly. We also used a diamond model to decide which people were the most significent. Miss Eaton chose Florence and Eliza chose Van Gough.
