Starfish Autumn 1, Week 1

In Maths, we have been learning place value. We have identified how many tens and ones are in a number and have partitioned a number using a part whole model. Melissa and Noah worked hard in Maths this week, well done! 

In English, we started our new book called, 'The Magic Paintbrush' by Julia Donaldson. We will be writing our own story to entertain the new Reception children. This week, we have sequenced events from the story and identified the features of a narrative. Mia remembered the story really well. 

Our new Topic is called, 'Movers and Shakers'. On Monday, we had a topic day where we could dress up as a significant person. We had fun completing different activities. We made our own maps, designed an astronaut and made our very own lantern. On Thursday and Friday we wrote a mini fact file about an important person from the past. 

Well done for a wonderful first week back Starfish!
