Spring 2 Week 2

Date: 7th Mar 2024 @ 8:35am

The Bears have had another busy and fun filled week at school exploring our second topic this half term 'Puddles and Rainbows'.

The week started with a weather walk. During the walk the children were encouraged to think about what clothes they would need to wear if it was sunny, rainy, or cloudy. From this we were then able to research different weather types using Non-fiction texts. By the end of the week the class had learnt a lot including Mia who said ‘If we didn’t have the Sun there would be no weather and the planet would freeze’. How brilliant!

In Maths we have been learning to subitise (recognise a number from sight without counting). To help with this we have been using flashcards to help recognise numbers as well as rolling dice and shouting out the right number. We have also used lots of different interactive games to help match amounts to number without counting. We are such a clever bunch!

World Book Day was also a roaring success with children dressing up as their favourite book characters. The Bears had great fun trying to guess each other’s costumes. A few of the Bears had a go at the story box activity set by Miss Pearce. These were truly fantastic. Well done adults and children for creating these wonderful pieces.
