SPRING 1 WEEK 2

The children have made a great start back into BSL after the Christmas break.

In Deaf Studies this term, the Reception and Nursery the children have been learning what the word 'Deaf' means and what supporting aids some deaf people use and the understanding of choice. I would like to say a huge thank you to our Deaf children in Reception who proudly talked about their hearing aids/cochlear implants and choice not to wear them or the periods of time they prefer to take them off. They told the children how they feel wearing them and were excited to show them off.

This term Reception are learning colours and fictional characters.

Nursery are learning colours and emotions.

Year 2 are learning emotions.

Year 4 are learning about jobs and time.

Well done to all children this week in BSL they have made a great start back and have retained so many signs that they have learnt in Autumn 1 & 2.
