Spring 1 Week 1

Happy New Year! Welcome back to spring term with the Super Sharks!

In maths, this week we have been using our place value knowledge to estimate the position of numbers on number lines. We have also been comparing two digit numbers using the words greater than and less than and used the correct symbols to record this. 

In English, we have started a new unit based around the story of 'Sally and the Limpet'. We have explored good examples of stories that are designed to entertain young children and picked out the features. Irene did an amazing job hunting for different time adverbials. We also found lots of adjectives and conjunctions. 

We have also started a new topic called 'Coastlines' and have been working as geographers. We have learnt how to use a compass to describe directions and used a key to understand human and physical features shown on a map.
