Sharks Summer 2 Week 6
Date: 12th Jul 2026 @ 8:25pm
A wonderful week!
Despite the very warm weather, the children have coped brilliantly with the heat. They have been very sensible, making sure they stayed hydrated, took opportunities to cool down and continued to work hard in class. We were so impressed with their positive attitudes and resilience throughout the week.
One exciting highlight was spending a morning with their new class and teachers for next year. The children enjoyed exploring their new classrooms (upstairs!), getting to know their teachers and taking part in activities with their future classmates. It was lovely to see their enthusiasm and confidence as they prepared for the next stage of their learning journey. We did miss them down in our Year 2 classrooms!
In Maths, we have been learning about fact families for multiplication and division. The children have been using their knowledge of times tables to understand how multiplication and division facts are linked. They worked hard to identify related number sentences and explain their mathematical thinking. We have really been focusing on the fact that if you know one of the fact family answers, you know them all!
In English, the children proudly completed their castle report writing. They have worked incredibly hard and used factual language to create informative reports. It has been fantastic to see how much their writing has developed, and they should all be very proud of their finished pieces.
As we approach the end of the school year, we continue to be impressed by the children's hard work, determination and positive attitudes. We are especially looking forward to Art’s week- starting on Monday!
Well done, Year 2! We hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
