Sharks Spring 2 Week 5

Date: 27th Mar 2026 @ 8:13am

End of Term!

What a busy end to the Spring term! We had a super Easter bonnet parade on Wednesday. All the entries were absolutely fantastic and the children looked amazing! A super effort by all!

We finished our half term with our DT structure project, whereby the children worked in small groups to design and make their very own lighthouses. The children had to think carefully about which materials to use as their structure was tested with wind (a hairdryer) to see if they were able to stand strong! We were really impressed with the children’s communication skills and resilience. Their lighthouses looked fantastic, with many not being blown over!

In maths, we continued to practise our time work- focusing on O’clock, half past and quarter to. The children really are becoming confident at recognising these times. Well, done Sharks! We then moved our learning on to lines of symmetry in shape. We folded shapes to find lines of symmetry and really explored what we mean by ‘symmetrical’. At the end of the two days- the children were able to say that a circle has a ‘never’ ending number of lines of symmetry.

In English, we published our Island descriptions. The children used some amazing vocabulary and sentence openers, really setting the scene in the readers imagination. Once again, the children’s handwriting was fantastic, as was their editing skills. They are becoming so confident at spotting their own mistakes and correcting them. Super Sharks!

We would like to wish everyone a lovely break and look forward to seeing you all back in school on Monday 13th April.
