Perfect Penguins- Summer 2 Week 1

We learned this week that, for the first time ever, our classes are going to have their very own Reception Buddies, when we go up to Year 6! For this reason, we have looked at the features of a letter and explored some real buddy letters, to help us plan our own. We discussed some memories we can share in the letter and some exciting things the future Bears and Bees have to look forward to. We will write our letters next week.

Maths
This week in Maths, we have been learning all about different types of angles and identified acute, obtuse and right angles. After that, we explored line graphs and looked at how to interpret the data from them. Finally, we are completing some fluency work on fractions.  

Other Subjects
This week on Wednesday, we had our trip to Matlock Farm Park! Penguins Class had an amazing time walking around the Highland Cows, Sheep, Pigs and Deer. In the afternoon, we had the incredible opportunity to feed the Meerkats with live mealworms, pet the tortoises, rabbits and even the Guinea Pigs. We were even able to feed the pygmy goats, alpacas, sheep, deer and the Highland Cows! We all had a fantastic time.
