Perfect Penguins- Summer 1 Week 3

Date: 12th May 2025 @ 9:42am

English
This week, we continued our learning about Myths. We have been carefully planning and writing these all week, ready for writing up on Monday.

Maths
This week in Maths, we have been looking at powers of 10 and using the column method to help us to count on or back in powers of 10. Later in the week, we looked at roman numerals and the rules on how to read them. On Friday we practiced a range of fluency questions.

Other Subjects
This week we started our Shakespeare sessions to get us ready for our performance. Each class learned the part they were going to perform and we had a chat about how we were going to act it out. Later in the week, we celebrated VE Day. Penguins learned about why we celebrate VE Day and what it means to our country. In the afternoon, we made bunting, spitfires and commemorative plates to mark the occasion. Earlier in the week, we made some poppies that can be seen outside school in a giant ‘80’ as it is 80 years since the first VE day this year.
