Perfect Penguins- Autumn 1 Week 8

Maths
This week in Maths, we continued our learning about area, understanding that area was the shape inside a shape. We used this knowledge to help us to estimate the areas of irregular shapes, later on in the week. Penguins class were great at remembering area is measured in cm/m or mm squared.  

English
In English this week, Penguins started learning about what makes a great poetry performance by watching some videos of Michael Rosen. Later on, they chose a poem, learned it and then performed it to the class.    

Other Subjects
This week in Topic, we finished our main topic ‘Dynamic Dynasties’ by presenting our podcasts to the rest of the class. We enjoyed listening to the different presentations about different aspects of the Dynasties that followed the Shang Dynasty.

Star of the Week: Norah- for super effort in all her subjects (particularly topic) and for always being kind and helpful.

Star Writer: Mya- for her own really creative and well-written version of the Willow Pattern Story.
