Perfect Penguins- Autumn 1 Week 3

Maths
In Maths lessons this week we have been using our knowledge of addition and subtraction to solve worded problems. At the end of the week, we started looking at worded problems with more than one step.

English
In English this week, we continued our learning about Biographies. We finished our research about Fu Hao and started writing up our biographies. We wrote about her early life, and later life. We will finish writing these next week.  

Other Subjects
In topic this week, we have continued our learning about ‘Dynamic Dynasties’. On Tuesday we had our exciting Shang Dynasty workshop where we learned all about the story of the Shang Dynasty, using drama and acting to tell the story ourselves. In the morning, we created a class dragon, by each making a scale.  Additionally, we read the start of the willow pattern story and created our own willow pattern paper plate designs. On Friday, we had our Global School Day, where we did lots of activities about the book “This is how we do it”.

Star of the Week: Jonah- For having an incredible start to year 5. He has been an all-round superstar!

Star Writer: Jaheim- For his fantastic ideas in his biography all about Fu Hao.
