Marvellous Meerkats Summer 1 Week 2

We’ve had a productive and engaging week of learning across all subjects.

In English, the children have been developing their grammar skills, focusing on punctuation, different types of clauses, and how these features can be used effectively when writing internal monologues. Using the text Rose Blanche as inspiration, they explored how grammar choices help reveal a character’s thoughts and emotions.

In Maths, the class has been revising key skills in preparation for the upcoming SATs. They have been practising calculation strategies, problem‑solving, and reasoning, showing great determination and focus.

In Topic, we began learning about life in the trenches during World War I. The children discussed what daily routines were like for soldiers and explored the challenging conditions they faced.
