Welcome back after our half term break. It has been lovely to see the children and they have settled straight back into their learning.

Maths – Exploring Simple Algebra

In maths, the children have been introduced to simple algebra. They’ve been learning how to use letters to represent missing numbers and how to solve equations such as 3 × n = 12 or x + 5 = 17.

It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they realise that algebra is simply another way of expressing the number patterns and problem‑solving skills they already know so well.

English – Writing Biographies

In English, the class has been working on how to write a biography. The children have been exploring the features of biographical writing, including timelines, significant life events, and how to write in a formal, factual style.
