Maths

In Maths this week, the year 6 children have been learning how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. The children learnt how to add and subtract fractions by finding the common denominators, multiplying by fractions by multiplying the numerators together, then multiply the denominators and simplify if possible. At the end of the week, the children learnt how to divide fractions by following a simple three step rule- Leave it. Switch it. Turn it over. Test the children at home to see if they can show you some of their fantastic learning. 

English

In English this week, the children have began writing their adventure narratives. At the beginning of the week, the children began their learning by identiyfing the difference between speech and dialogue. The children learnt that is speech is when one character speaks and no one replies, dialogue to when two characters have a conversation.
