Maths

In Maths this week, the year 6 children have been working super hard on their understanding of number and place value. The children began their week by identifying the value of digits within numbers up to 1,000,000. Later in the week, they used their place value knowledge to round whole numbers. Don't forget your rounding rules Year 6, '5 or more, add one more, 4 or less, let it rest'. 

English

In English this week, the children have been learning about how to write a setting description. The children have been learning about the different grammatical features needed in descriptive writing. 

This week, the children have been introduced to our new topic 'Maafa'. The children began their learning by learning about Africa and it's Ancient Kingdoms.
