Clever Koalas - Summer 2 - Week 4

WELL DONE to EVERYONE in the Koalas for achieving the Star of the Week this week!!  We decided that every child needed to be awarded and recognised for their fantastic performance at Derby Theatre on Tuesday this week. All the adults there from Reigate Park were so impressed with everyone’s bravery to go and perform on the stage and also everyone’s behaviour throughout the day. You are all superstars!!

Steven has been chosen this week for the Koalas Star Writer! Steven has been working extra hard on his handwriting and is very conscientious in all his writing, well done Steven. 

On Thursday this week Reigate celebrated their Spanish Day! Thank you to everyone who got involved and wore red and yellow to school – the day started with a Spanish story in assembly, read in Spanish by Mrs Sanchez, this was very much enjoyed by all.  In the afternoon we learnt a little bit more about Spain, including all about the food, dance and traditions they have throughout the country.  The children could then decide how they would like to share their new knowledge; this was a brilliant afternoon.  Between them the Koalas created some excellent, flags, drawings, model bulls (well done Byron) and PowerPoints!

In Maths this week we have been linking our knowledge with fractions, decimals and percentages. The children have been converted fractions to be over 100 to help themselves with this, also using decimal place value charts. Please ask your child to explain how percentages, fractions and decimals are all linked!!
