Clever Koalas - Summer 2 - Week 3
Date: 20th Jun 2025 @ 10:24am
WELL DONE to Mason for being awarded Star of the Week this week! Mason was chosen this week for working hard to participate in class discussions and share his excellent ideas. Mason has been working particularly hard in maths and concentrating well during these lessons. Big congratulations Mason!
Another well done to Kingsseal for achieving Star Writer this week! KSeal was chosen this week for his super positive letter to the new children starting at Reigate Park in September, good work KSeal!
Our performance of The Tempest at Derby Theatre is happening on Tuesday next week! The koalas performed their scene to the whole school in assembly on Thursday this week. Well done to the Koalas for ALL knowing their lines off by heart and for some ex excellent singing when on stage. A special mention to Kate who was noted by Mrs Webster in the audience for her excellent expression and for staying in character during the whole performance! We cannot wait to see you all on the theatre stage next week!
On Thursday afternoon this week Reigate completed a Science afternoon – we focussed on change and adaptation, learning about climate change. The koalas conducted an investigation using ice cubes (which were welcomed into the classroom during the current heatwave!) to find out what factors make ice to melt quicker – relating it to Polar ice in the North and South poles.
In English this week we have been continuing learning the features and the different grammar used in a newspaper report. We have worked hard on the difference between direct and reported speech in class, Mrs Dewsbury and Mrs Fox have called on their acting skills to help the children with their understanding.
Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine!
