Clever Koalas - Summer 2 - Week 2

WELL DONE to Caleb for being awarded Star of the Week this week! Caleb was chosen this week for his excellent effort in all subjects, but in particular with his English. We have been writing letters for the new children starting in reception in September, his was fantastic and very welcoming! Congratulations Caleb !

Another congratulations goes to Casey-Leigh who achieved Star Writer this week also for her fantastic letter to the new children starting at Reigate Park in September, well done Casey!

With our performance of The Tempest at Derby Theatre fast approaching we have been practising our scenes much more this week.  Well done to the Koalas for ALL knowing their lines off by heart and for also working so hard on their staging and expression this week! We cannot wait to see you all on the stage! We will be performing to the school next week as a practise in front of an audience.

At the start of the week in Maths we revisited telling the time and answering some tricky reasoning questions all about length of time – some excellent work was seen and great skills when reading a 12 hour and 24 hour clock.  We then moved onto addition and subtraction methods using decimal points, some super effort this week koalas!

Thank you to everyone who came to our reading treasure hunt, it was well attended and all the children who took part loved it! Well done to the children who stayed in class with me – they completed an adventure at Dragon Castle and followed the clues to complete the mission successfully!
