There was no Celebration Assembly this week, so therefore no winners to announce, Star Writer and Star of the Week will be back next week.
This week in English the Koalas have planned and began drafting their letters to their future buddies for September. They have thought of some excellent things to tell them about Reigate Park and have also shared some lovely things about themselves, we are excited to read these once they are finished next week.
In Maths this week Year 5 have revisited subtraction and addition, we initially practised the column method for both calculations then moved onto word problems. They are definitely increasing in confidence when choosing what methods to complete during multi-step problems, but we continue to work on our accuracy. Please ask your children what RUCSAC means and why we use it in Maths!
We all enjoyed our first session of Forest School, we spent this time reintroducing the rules and boundaries we use when in the Forest School area and playing some games. The Koalas absolutely LOVED playing ‘1,2,3, Where are you?’ and hunting out their friends in the forest area.
Please remember that it is sports day next Wednesday (17th) and keep your fingers crossed for a dry day!
