Congratulations to the Star of the Week this week… Corey! Corey has been working super hard this week on his plan and also his draft for his Greek Myth. Corey has created two fantastic characters, including a hero called Jake and a cyclops as the monster he has to defeat, well done Corey!
Star Writer this week goes to Alisa, who created an excellent story mountain for her Greek Myth. Alisa planned out 5 paragraphs for her myth including drawings of her characters.
This week in English we have been drafting and publishing our Greek myth – the children have been working hard to include all the different features needed to write an interesting and engaging story. The Koalas have been focusing on describing their characters and using a wide range of adjectives to help paint a picture in the readers mind.
In music this week we have completed our unit on Balinese music, the children have really enjoyed this unit and creating their own kecak inspired rhythm. We watched and exploring the tradition monkey chant which gave them all great inspiration.
To link with our learning all about the Groundbreaking Greeks we have some artefacts in the classroom for the children to explore. This includes an Ancient Greek ring, some Greek coins and an ancient Medusa necklace.
