Clever Koalas - Summer 1 - Week 2
Date: 2nd May 2025 @ 8:37am
Let’s begin this week with a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to every single Koala for achieving Star of the Week this week! Everyone had a fantastic first week back last week – especially on the first day, our Greek Day! Due to this we decided that everyone deserved to be Star of the Week. This was mainly due to everyone’s engagement with the activities through the day, those who dressed up and the concentration displayed when being creative. Well done to all of the Clever Koalas!
The Star Writer this week goes to Byron who has been working ever so hard to improve his handwriting and is very focused on achieving his pen licence whilst in year 5. Keep up the good work Byron hopefully you will be awarded a pen licence soon!
We started this week with the Wonderdome in school, this was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children – despite the heat – and some fantastic questions came from this experience.
In English this week we began mapping out our own Greek myths, thinking carefully about where in Greece our myths are going to be set and choosing which characters we want in them. All of the children have created their own story map which will help support them when they begin writing it all down next week.
On Thursday we celebrated International Workers Day, we all shared what we would like to do when we grow up and discussed how we might get there. There were also some fantastic costumes and a great effort was made by a lot of children – and parents. A big thank you to Kelvin, Francesca’s Dad, for coming into the classroom and sharing all about his job – the children were very inspired and asked some excellent questions. Thank you so much for giving up your own time and bringing everyone a goodie bag!!
The weather has been very warm and lovely to have this week – please remember to send your children into school with a sun hat and suncream if these temperatures continue.
Have a lovely long week and we will see you back in school on Tuesday.
