Clever Koalas - Summer 1 - Week 2
Date: 24th Apr 2026 @ 1:20pm
Firstly, a huge well done to Jemima for being chosen as Star of the Week this week! Jemima achieved this for always putting 100% into her class work and being an active member of the Reigate Park community. This was evidenced in our celebration assembly today when she received a certificate for her participation in Celebration of Dance at Derby Theatre! Jemima also has lunchtime jobs, attends choir during her lunchtime and enjoys basketball and sketch club! Well done Jemima!!
This week the Star Writer is Theodore, he has worked really hard to improve his handwriting and this has been shown in his chronological report. Theodore has also used a fantastic range of vocabulary and engaged the reader well with his choice of language.
We welcomed Miss Razwan back into the Koalas class this week for her final placement of her first year studying to be a teacher. She has done some team teaching this week and is looking forward to teaching some maths lessons next week.
The Koalas have now completed the story of Hamlet and have acted each scene out to help them understand the story. In English this week everyone has selected a character who they would like to describe and we have begun researching our characters ready to write a character description. We have been recapping the importance of describing both the characters personality and appearance.
On Friday the children had the opportunity to wear either blue, yellow or orange to school in support of the RNLI linked to a topic that year 2 are currently learning about. Thank you to everyone who supported this and brought in some change for the RNLI – every little helps!
Fingers crossed the sunshine stays around all weekend!
