CONGRATULATIONS to Freya for receiving Star of the Week this week! Freya was chosen for working well with whoever she is partnered with, always showing kindness to everyone in the class and doing so with a smile on her face! Freya should be super proud of herself for always being a friendly and creative member of the Koalas!
On Wednesday this week the whole school celebrated Easter early with an Easter Bonnet parade and competition! Unfortunately, due to the poor weather the parade outside was cancelled, however the children enjoyed looking at all the different bonnets in assembly and they were displayed around school. Thank you to everyone who took part in this, some of the creations were absolutely awesome! Well done to Harmony who was chosen as the winner from our class and was awarded a prize in celebration assembly!
In English this week the Koalas are publishing their fantastic chronological reports all about the human life cycle. For most children this is the longest piece of writing we have done so far in Year 5, the technical language being used is excellent and some of the drawings are looking great too!
On Thursday this week we had our this Shakespeare workshop with Sue who is the festival director for North West Shakespeare. She introduced all the children to Shakespeare’s play Hamlet which we will be performing a scene from at Derby Theatre in the Summer term – more information will come out about this nearer the time.
Have a fantastic 2 week Easter break and we will see you back at school on Monday 13th April.
