Clever Koalas - Spring 2 - Week 3

First a BIG congratulations to Kyle for being chosen to receive the Star of the Week this week! Kyle is a great member of the Clever Koalas and he is ALWAYS willing to help his peers and his teachers. He has been working really hard on improving his writing this half term and making sure he adds all the features needed in his chronological report.

Well done to Hannah being chosen as our Star Writer this week, she published an excellent newspaper report all about a ploughing match linked to the Farm Boy  text we have been reading, super work!

This week we celebrated British Science Week across the school, this years theme is all about curiosity.  The question that the Clever Koalas tried to answer was ‘What does great teamwork look like?’ They looked in groups of 4 to complete several tasks, they learnt along the way which strategies worked best and what made it harder for them.  One task consisted of copying a picture using one felt tip pen§ and a peg each – they were not allowed to hold the pen and they were not allowed to talk to each other! The children thoroughly enjoyed this investigation – see the photos below J

In English we have started drafting our chronological report all about the human life cycle, these are sounding great so far and all of the children are working really hard on them!
