Clever Koalas - Spring 1 - Week 5

Congratulations to Darcie-Rose for being chosen to receive Star of the Week this week! Darcie-Rose was chosen due to her continuing focus and hard work – she always puts in 100% effort regardless of the lesson and always tries her best.  Well done Darcie, you truly deserve this! 

The Star Writer this week is Jude! Jude has really worked hard on improving his handwriting and this showed in a diary he recently wrote!

In English this week the Koalas have completed their grammar lessons on a newspaper report and have began to plan out their reports.  They have enjoyed pretending to be members of the press and have mapped their reports out ready to draft them next week. 

In Maths we have been practising our reflection and translation skills – this has involved using mirrors to help copy shapes and also a range of different strategies to move an object to a different place on a grid.  We have practised this lots together and used different coloured crayons to help us see the translation clearly, well done to all of the Koalas for working hard on this and following the instructions carefully. 

We continued our work in computing on learning how to quiz – the children created their own questions on purple mash.  They looked at a wide range of question types and selected the correct question type to match the answer and also keep the user engaged! They are all looking forward to creating their own full quiz for each other next week.
