Clever Koalas - Spring 1 - Week 3

Big congratulations to Edward for being chosen to receive Star of the Week this week! Edward  has had a fantastic start to 2026 and has been working hard across the board, he has produced some particularly good writing. Well done to Edward  for focusing well on his work and using a wide range of vocabulary!

The Star Writer this week is Max, Max has been using a range of adverbs, adjectives and fronted adverbials to help paint a picture in his readers mind. Well done Max!

In English, we have started to write the draft for our diary linked to The Farm Boy which includes editing our work with our purple pens. The children have been ensuring that their texts are written in past tense and in first person, they have also been adding in some similes and expanded noun phrases. Excited to read the published pieces next week!

We started our new topic in Spanish this week – we are going to be learning all about ‘Mi Casa’ (my home), this will include types of homes, locations of homes and the rooms of the house!

The Reigate Raisers are running a valentines disco on Thursday 12^th February, 4pm-5pm we do hope the Koalas are able to attend. You do not need to purchase tickets before the event, just pay £3 on the door, this entry fee also includes a bag of sweets and unlimited juice!

Finally, thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Year 5 Showcase last Tuesday, the children enjoyed showing off all their work!
