Clever Koalas - Spring 1 - Week 2

CONGRATULATIONS to Harmony for being chosen as our Star of the Week this week!! Harmony was chosen mainly due to her kindness, she is an excellent role model of how to treat others and is always willing to help and include her peers. Harmony has been working very well with her new partner in class and always tries her best, well done Harmony! 

The Star Writer this week is Charlie, well done Charlie for taking your time when publishing your setting description and trying your best to improve your handwriting.  

The Koalas won the Year 5 Reading Competition this week - well done to everyone for reading at home and in school - together we managed to pass over 30 quizzes! 

In English, we have started planning our diary linked to The Farm Boy. The children have been able to create a plan using their creativity and pictures if they chose, these look great and we are looking forward to seeing their drafts next week.  

We have continued with our new topic ‘Sow, Grow, Farm’ this week – beginning with drawing our own animal life cycles and learning all the names of the different stages.  We then learnt about the different ways plants reproduce and looked at the different reproduction structures such as tubers and runners.    

Please remember to attend our Year 5 Showcase on Tuesday 20th January at 2.45pm, the children are all excited to show you their work.
