Clever Koalas - Autumn 2 - Week 7

Congratulations to Alex for being selected to receive Star of the Week this week! Alex  has had a super couple of weeks, he has been working hard with his learning partner in class and has been contributing his ideas in lessons with much more confidence. Well done for all your hard work Alex !

Star Writer this week is Ellie! Ellie has written a fantastic setting description – focusing on a little girl dreaming about visiting the moon. Well done for excellent use of similes and expanded noun phrases!  Have a read below!

On Wednesday this week the Koalas had a whole morning of Design and Technology, in this time they designed and created their own pneumatic toys! The design was consistent with our learning about Toaties, they also used a drinking straw and balloon so the mouth was able to open and close! Freya and Mason’s toys were chosen to be put on display in the downstairs corridor – see the photo below!

On Thursday everyone enjoyed Christmas jumper day and a yummy Christmas dinner at lunchtime! The festive songs were playing in the hall as crackers were opened and Christmas hats were worn! In the afternoon we got the glitter out and made our own 2026 calendars! The children thoroughly enjoyed doing this and I hope they are all hung up proudly at home!

Our Mental Health Ambassadors began their new training this week – Ellie and Kristarnio received their badges and started their work with Mrs Holt. Good luck with these important roles within school!
